Nova Srbija was established in 1998. in Cacak. At the first inaugural meeting, Mr. Velimir Ilic was unanimously elected president of the party.

Party Headquarters was Cacak, one of the first free town in Serbia, New Serbia was initially a small party, almost local character, but news of the success of the first opposition mayor of Cacak - Velimir Ilic and his team soon found their way to people who want freedom in Serbia. Nova Srbija is one of the founders of the Alliance for Change, as well as the DOS coalition - the only force that is able to topple the regime of Slobodan Milosevic.

Mr. Velimir Ilic in 1996. was elected president of the Municipalities of Cacak, while at the same time Cacak is one of the first opposition municipalities in Serbia. The role of Mr. Velimir Ilic in the democratic changes of 5 th October 2000. is well known around the world. At first, the right to democratic elections in 2000. the new Serbian entered in both parliaments, and with eight deputies to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and three deputies  in the Federal Parliament. Also, the Nova Srbija took an important part in local government, and Mr. Velimir Ilic was re-elected Mayor of Cacak.

In the parliamentary elections in 2003. Nova Srbija won nine seats in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and three in the State Union Parliament, while the president of New Serbia, Mr. Velimir Ilic, became Minister of Capital Investments of the Republic of Serbia. In the local elections of 19 th September 2004, Nova Srbija was first performed independently and won significant results, winning mayoral seats in over 10 municipalities, while in most municipalities take a significant share in the government. In the parliamentary elections of 2007 DSS-NS coalition won 47 seats of which 14 belonging to our party. The president of Nova Srbija, Mr. Velimir Ilic, continues his work in the Serbian government as Minister of Infrastructure.

 Nova Srbija  is a modern, national, national and monarchist party which advocates for the legal, equitable, decentralized state, developed cities, villages rich and wealthy individuals.

Nova Srbija keep pace with the times, that Serbia, founded in itself, its origins and value, catch up with Europe.
